Dead Sea Hotels

The lowest point on earth. 🌍

One thing you must do when in Jordan is visit the Dead Sea; the lowest point on earth.

This is not an option. Well, it is… But, come on, as if you wouldn’t go if you were visiting Jordan, right?

The Dead Sea is approximately a half an hour drive from Amman. Nice and close.

Hotels down at the Dead Sea are typically expensive, but they’re worth it as there isn’t much to do down there except take a dip in the sea. Even if you’re just going down for the day, you’d be more comfortable swimming in the sea from one of the hotel access points rather than the public beach (unless you want to be stared at by, literally, everyone).

Most hotels offer day entrances which usually include food vouchers, too.

Another advantage of going to one of the hotels is that they have nice swimming pools. Most people who visit the Dead Sea spend approximately an hour in the actual sea, while the rest of the time is spent by the pool soaking up the sun and sipping on some refreshing cold drinks.

There are a number of hotels down at the Dead Sea for you to choose from. Here are my top 5 and their day entrance prices as well as some other information you may find handy.

1. Marriott Hotel

– 50JOD entrance for all days of the week (25JOD for food).

– Access to the Bridge swimming pool (pictured) only and the beach.

– 3 hours of Free WiFi available.

2. Movenpick Hotel

– 45JOD entrance on weekdays and 55JOD on weekends (20JOD for food).

– Access to all swimming pools and the beach.

– Free WiFi available.

3. Dead Sea Spa Hotel

– 20JOD entrance for all days of the week.

– Access to all swimming pools and the beach.

– Free WiFi available.

4. Hilton Hotel

– No day passes available but you can book a room for day use (Prices subject to day of visit and season).

5. Holiday Inn Hotel

– 45JOD entrance (10JOD for food) or 35JOD entrance (without food).

– Access to all swimming pools and the beach.

– Free WiFi available.

If you don’t want to pay those prices for the hotels and would rather go with a cheaper option, then the next best option is the “Amman Beach”.

There are 2 areas of the Amman Beach.

A public area (8JOD entrance) and a private area with swimming pool (12JOD entrance). Food is available to order on both sides as well as a 10JOD buffet with reasonable food. Dead Sea mud is available for a small fee.

Note: The Amman Beach gets busy on weekends, especially Thursdays and Fridays.
